We sail on the Gdańsk Bay all year round! During the months when the nights are longer than the days, it’s worth preparing thoroughly, even for a short trip, to ensure thermal comfort and fully enjoy the pleasure of sailing and discovering the Tri-City from the water.
For a simple way to prepare for an autumn or winter sailing trip, dress as if you’re heading for a long walk on the beach. Remember, there’s plenty of space on the yacht, so you can bring a backpack with an extra layer without worrying about carrying it around. The yacht has a heated interior deck where warm coffee or tea is always available. We also provide blankets, and the skipper will help you find a spot sheltered from the wind. Nevertheless, it’s good to prepare well:
Shoes – They should be comfortable and warm. We recommend warm footwear, even ski boots or double socks! However, remember that you’re on a yacht, so the soles should be light-colored or non-marking to avoid leaving dark marks on the deck.
Headwear – You know our climate best. Additionally, wind lowers the temperature, so it’s always good to have a hat to keep your head warm.
Gloves – Like hats, gloves can come in handy year-round. Thin, comfortable gloves are always a good idea, and in colder weather, even ski gloves are recommended. Ensure they allow you to grip easily, making it safer and more convenient to move around the yacht.
Underwear – Breathable, activewear-style underwear is a great choice.
When it’s really cold—5 degrees or less—think about how you would dress for skiing, and prepare similarly for a sailing trip (just with different shoes 😉 ). This will ensure thermal comfort, freedom of movement, and full enjoyment of the thrills that sailing offers!
Sailing Route – Winter sailing requires extra careful planning and flexibility. Neptune undoubtedly has plans for the day, and he doesn’t always share them early. Therefore, the final confirmation of the route happens on the day of the trip and sometimes even during it.
Planning – To make winter sailing convenient, we’ve introduced a free cancellation policy up to 24 hours before the trip, ensuring the conditions on the water align with your preparations for a safe and enjoyable experience.
What’s the reward? Unique views! An empty sea, bay, and marinas! The feeling that the Baltic Sea is all yours! Sometimes, as is typical in winter, snow falls, creating an extraordinary atmosphere! Experience it with us!
